North Oldham wins 42-0 in week two against North Bullitt.

An edgy North Oldham (1-1) squad disappointed in its Week 1 performance came out firing on all cylinders in Week 2, shutting out North Bullitt (0-2), 42-0, in its home opener.

Senior quarterback Brodie Pfeiffer completed 15-of-21 passes for 227 yards and 3 TDs to lead a balanced North Oldham attack.

North Oldham took the opening possession 74 yards in 9 plays and cashed in with a 4-yard scoring strike from Pfeiffer to Conner Nesmith. After the Mustang defense forced a 3 and out and a poor punt, they marched 40 yards for another 4-yard score, this time by All-District running back Ronin Renton to make it 15-0 eight minutes into the game.

The North Oldham defense limited a North Bullitt Wing-T attack that piled up 313 rush yards in its opener to just 82 yards on Friday night. The Eagles did not run a single play in Mustang territory, turned it over 3 times, and their longest play was 10 yards.

The lone pass of North Bullitt’s night was intercepted by Nesmith, and the Mustangs converted the turnover into points in the closing moments of the first half as Destin Lindsey scored his first career touchdown as a Mustang.

Up 21-0 at the half, the Mustangs forced and recovered a fumble on the opening play of the second half. Pfeiffer found Renton on a 17-yard screen play that found the end zone to push the lead to 28-0 a few plays later, and freshman Conner Daugherty and senior Jackson Davis ended the scoring party with touchdowns on the Mustangs’ final two series.

Running backs Ronin Renton and Destin Lindsey combined for 105 scrimmage yards and 3 TDs to spark the rushing effort, while Jackson Davis (5-72-1) and Conner Nesmith (5-40-1) each caught five passes and found the end zone through the air.

The defensive shutout marked the 6th shutout of the Brock Roberts era, and improved his record to 8-1 following losses as a head coach at North Oldham.

The Mustangs return home next Friday in a county rivalry showdown against Oldham County (2-0).
