The 2025 football campaign started on a cool, crisp summer fall-like morning in the 502. Fans of #CardNation started off their day with a run where they were accompanied by Josh Herd & Peyton Siva.

Not long after that, that’s when the parking lots started opening, where all members alike set up their tailgates. All of the city of Louisville has yearned for the start of year three under Brohm , which seems like it has taken forever to get here 🤣.

The game between the Colonels and Cardinals kicked off at 3 p.m. inside L&N Stadium, weather perfect, vibes high, everything was right.

Quickly, everyone saw and knew why there was so much hype behind this set of Cardinals. What stood out the most in the first half was just how dangerous a fully healthy Caulin Lacey is.

How you ask?, just go back and look at the tape when he took a 93-yard punt return to the house, which is the second longest in school history. Clev Lubin let it be known as to why Brohm & Co came his way in the off-season, starting his Cardinal career off with 2 sacks in the first half.

The Cardinal offense produced 373 yards and six touchdowns. A crazy Corky stat about the offensive performance for the Cards in the first half was that they had only 30 seconds more of possession.

Miller Moss’s first start as a Cardinal would end at halftime having produced a stat line of : 17/25 passing, 225 passing yards, 1 touchdown, & 2 interceptions.

Isaac Brown also had himself a monster game having only played the first half. But just as you’d think, Brown did what he’s been known to do, and that’s run!.

Brown may have only had six carries, but in those six carries, he averaged 21 yards a carry, that were accompanied by two touchdowns.

Clear-cut backup quarterback Brady Allen got the nod to start the second half for the Cards. At first, Brady made a couple of overthrown passes in his first series, but then in his second series, found Union County alum Kris Hughes for a 31-yard touchdown reception.

Just before the end of the third quarter, Brady Allen would throw an interception, becoming the third turnover of the day for Louisville.

In the end, the Cardinals proved they have the offensive and defensive talents to compete with just about anyone out there.

The cardinals would win by a final score of 51-17, in front of an announced crowd of 50,536.

Up next for Louisville they have James Madison coming to town, next Friday night September 5th.
