Louisville came into this game with moral and heart in question, giving their questionable performance the previous couple of games. With a dejected fan base and players looking checked out, a lack of positivity was plentiful heading into the 2025 edition of the Governor’s Cup.
Prior to the start of the Battle of the Bluegrass, it had been noted that the Cardinals would be without their first three running backs, their star wide receiver Chris Bell, Caullin Lacey would be heavily limited, and Miller Moss wasn’t at 100%.
So with all of that, you’d clearly think that the Wildcats of Kentucky had a decent, legit shot of beating the Cardinals at L&N Stadium. Side note: Kentucky had a decent handful of defensive players out.
With both sides having ample injuries, that card wasn’t an excuse to be used regardless of the outcome. And well, let’s just say not a single thing at all worked for the Wildcats of Kentucky today.
Well let’s just be honest and let’s just keep it real here, the game was not a battle, was not a contest, and was not much of a fight at all, as the Louisville Cardinals absolutely demolished Kentucky 41-0.
The fourth string running back and a receiver converted to a running back cooked up and chewed up the Kentucky defense all game long, as they rushed for over 250+ yards as a team, 258 to be exact.

Kentucky native Braxton Jennings rushed for 113 yards with a 5.7-yard average per carry, and fellow Kentucky native Shaun Boykins rushed for 101 yards with a 4.6 average and a touchdown.
Miller Moss was not fully 100 percent himself during this game as he missed the game against SMU. However, Miller managed to throw for 182 yards, with no interceptions and three touchdowns.
The defense of Louisville held the Wildcats of Kentucky to a meek total of 140 yards of offense, with ZERO points scored. Cutter Boyle was sacked six times and threw two interceptions.

TJ Quinn stole the show on the defensive side of the ball as he totaled up six tackles and two sacks. Clev Lubin had two sacks, and T. Holloway had two interceptions.
The Louisville Cardinals finished the 2025 regular season 8-4 with a victory against Miami at Miami, and a shutout victory of their arch rival 41-0.
