For the first time in 34 years, the Louisville Cardinals traveled down to Blacksburg, Virginia, to face off against the Hokies. The Cardinals entered this game just outside the top 15 at #16, and the Hokies are an underwhelming 3-5.

It only took just two plays for the Cardinals to strike first as Isaac Brown showed just why he’s deadly, taking it to the house for a 52-yard touchdown score.

The second drive for the Cardinals didn’t fare so well as Miller Moss would throw an interception in deep coverage, continuing with a not-so-good stay of committing a turnover as an offense in every single game.

After a three-and-out series, the Cardinals would look to punt the ball, and things didn’t go as planned, as Virginia Tech would block the punt and convert it into a safety.

The Cardinals had struggled majorly in the first half with a dreadful combination of dropped passes, interceptions, blocked punts, and short yardage stops. Going 2/6 on third downs, and ending the half with a sack, Louisville hadn’t shown signs of a “Brohm blunder”.

The Cardinals of Louisville came out on the field to start the third quarter as a completely different team. Miller Moss got things going in the third with a 25-yard touchdown pass to Caullin Lacey.

Then after the Cards stopped the Hokies, Lacey would take a punt damn near to the house but was stopped after 55 yards. Keyiuan Brown only needed two attempts in short range to get the score.

At this point in the game, the Cards had gone on a 14-0 run in the third. The Cards would close out the third quarter with two explosive runs by Isaac Brown, and a first down pass to Bell going into the fourth.

The fourth quarter had started with the Cardinals defense making plays any and everywhere they could. At one point TJ Capers made a crucial stop on 3rd & 2 which resulted in a TFL.

Isaac Brown would also himself make some amazing plays however, at one point Isaac got up with what appeared to be a possible hamstring issue. Good sign though he did walk around somewhat by himself.

Keyiuan Brown showcased why   he can be trusted, as he scored another late-game touchdown, putting his total up to two for the day.

But in the end, the Cardinals would go on a 22-point unanswered run to close out the game in victory formation. What started out in the first half as a potential blunder-is game, the Cards would prevail and continue their winning ways, improving to 7-1.
