Coming off an historical performance by Mikel Brown last game against NC State, the Louisville Cardinals entered today’s game against Baylor, poised to continue their winning ways.

The first half between the Cards and Bears was one of weirdness and oddness as miscues, ill-advised plays, and unnecessary taunts caused the Bears and Cards to be tied 34-34.

I will say this, I guess, when the hosting home team is 14th in their respective conference, one game over .500, the crowd you saw during this game is what you were going to get regardless of the teams played.

The defense of the Cardinals today was definitely on display as they held the Bears to under 38% from the field, and an abysmal 9.5%. To add insult to injury for the Bears, a couple of their last possessions for them got blocked and denied by the Cardinals.

Today’s win for Louisville was a massive seed line push for the Cardinals as they now have won their 5th in a row, four of those coming against conference opponents of the ACC.

And let’s not forget Mikel Brown these last two games, 74pts, 12rebs, and

8ast . Ever since he’s come back from his back injury, he’s been playing like a man possessed.

The Cardinals would shoot 56% from the field, 44.4% from three, and an impressive 90% from the stripe.

Up next for the Cardinals, they’ll face the Mustangs of SMU on Tuesday night at 7pm.
