The Louisville Cardinals started their 13th and final đ game of the 2025 season against Toledo in the Bushâs Boca Raton Bowl. In a season filled with the highs of highs and the lows of lows, Louisville đ to end their season the right way with a victory.
Sunny and 78 degrees with an endless supply of beans is an oddly satisfying combination for the coaches, players, and fans during Christmas week. Playing at the place named after a Cardinal legend in Howard Schnellenberger, a win was definitely on the hearts and minds of all of #CardNation .
The Cardinals would strike fast and quick during the opening drive of the game as it would start with an amazing run by Keyjuan Brown followed by a 22+ yard touchdown pass from Moss to TreyShun Hurry. The Cards were off to a hot start after their 9-play 75+ yard drive.
Toledo would come back and answer but only with a field goal resulting in the score of the game 7-3, in favor of Louisville. And to be fair & honest, the rest of the first quarter and the whole second quarter, no action all defense as the score would stay at 7-3.
Miller Moss started making ill-advised throws, at one point only throwing the ball 20-something yards on a Hail Mary, and as most would think here we go again. But at the start of the second half it looked like a different team stepped out on the field.
The Cardinals would score 14 unanswered points, a run by phenom Isaac Brown, and a pass from Moss to Meeks, would push the lead to 21-3. To be fair and honest most would think the game was wrapped up for the Cardinals, however thatâs when Toledo would start to turn the tide.
Toledo would score giving the ball back to Louisville where the Cardinals would come up empty midway through the fourth quarter. Star defensive player Clev Lubin would be removed from the game due to targeting.
After the targeting call against Louisville, Toledo would strike again moving the score to 21-14 Louisville. Oh letâs not forget the blocked extra point that Toledo converted into 2 extra points.
Louisville star running back Isaac Brown wouldnât waste any time with an impressive 50+ yard touchdown scamper to the house, pushing the score in favor of the Cardinals 27-16.
Toledo would fire right back again, themselves driving all the way down field, missing the two-point conversion with the score 27-22 in favor of the Cardinals. Up to this point, a total of 32 points had been scored between the two teams, which is a crazy change of pace between the teams.
With just a five-point lead and the bowl victory hanging in the balance, Keyjuan Brown & Isaac Brown would make chunk play after chunk play, securing the game late for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals finished the season 9-4 with two victories against two CFP teams, and a massive shutout victory of their rival Kentucky, 41-0.
