What if I told you there was a passionate fan base that had been yearning for a reason to show the nation just exactly who they are?
Ladies and gentlemen, that’s exactly who and what #CardNation is. This Louisville team and fan base had been chomping at the bit ever since the horrible loss to the Cavaliers of Virginia.
And to be fair, the game against Virginia will be a sting for a while; however, they just took down the #2 team in the nation on the road! The Louisville Cardinals game against Miami and took over the trap of the Canes.
In a game where Louisville proved who they are versus who they were, the offensive praliciousness and defensive power reigned supreme.
The game started off with quarterback Miller Moss getting the first points of the game on a short-yardage run-in play, and it wasn’t long after that the Cards would score again on a Moss to Bell connection.
At that point in the game, not long into the first quarter, Louisville had a strong lead against the #2 team in the nation at 14-0. Not long after Louisville took a nice 14-0 lead, Miami would finally get on the board, cutting it down to 14-7.
But let’s switch gears here for a minute and talk about the defensive performance of the Cards. The Cards’ defense was any and everywhere out there last night, causing havoc and walking away with FOUR interceptions!
Now let’s get back to the offense and talk about Miller Moss. Miller had received a lot of slack rightfully so for his performance against Virginia with the throws. Miller against Miami went 23 of 37, 248 yards & 2 touchdowns.
And how could you forget how much better the offensive line performed against a Miami team that had been heavily talked about as a defensive line that reeked havoc. The return of Trevonte Sylvester proved to be valuable, as Rubene Bain of the Canes had just ONE Tackle!
Chris Bell balled out as usual, having 136 yards and two scores, pushing his receiving season total to over 500 yards. But what was the most impressive thing about Bell 🛎️ wasn’t just the Athens and scores, it was the huge yards after catch (YAC) he had!
Louisville defeats the Miami hurricanes 24-21 improving to 5-1 in the season. We can all assume and presume that Louisville without a doubt will be ranked heading into next week’s matchup against Boston College.
